The Local Architectural Heritage Service (SPAL), formerly the Monuments Cataloguing and Conservation Service (SCCM), was created on June 9, 1914. In its more than 110 years of history, it has directly worked on 386 monuments and buildings with heritage values in the province of Barcelona. It is made up of a multidisciplinary team of architects, technical architects, restorers, archaeologists, historians, art historians, archivists, infographics and photographers who support city councils in the conservation and enhancement of their architectural heritage.
