More than 97,000 users benefit from the Local Telecare Service of the Diputació de Barcelona. The service handles more than 3.5 million calls and more than 100,000 home visits each year. The service has 42 mobile units that attend to social emergencies, provide health support and monitor people at risk.
The Local Telecare Service is a preventive and proximity service that offers personalized support to people who may be at risk for reasons of age, loneliness, health, disability and/or dependency to be able to continue living in their usual environment safely . Users are attended to immediately in crisis situations, falls or emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and they also participate in different risk prevention programs.
The Local Telecare Service of the Diputació de Barcelona and the town councils of the demarcation is part of the Basic Portfolio of social services in Catalonia from the aspect of promoting personal autonomy and is one of the social programs with the most territorial implementation, with high satisfaction on the part of users.
