Diputació de Barcelona mobile cashpoint allows people who live in small municipalities in the province of Barcelona to withdraw cash, check balances, change PINs, top-up cards, and pay taxes as they do not have an ATM or a bank office in their municipality. With the aim of combatting financial exclusion, Diputació de Barcelona “brings a cashpoint to the village".
The mobile cashpoint service currently reaches 91 municipalities, and approximately 58,000 people who live and work in these municipalities. It is offered to municipalities with less than 1,000 inhabitants once a month, and to municipalities with 1,000 to 5,000 inhabitants twice a month.
Since its launch, it has traveled nearly 25,000 km and more than 600 banking operations have been carried out in the different municipalities where the service is provided.
